Leeds United and Newcastle could do business with each other this summer, but are also in competition for players.
The Elland Road club have been linked with a host of Newcastle players, including Callum Wilson, Sean Longstaff, and Matt Targett.
Daniel Farke’s side are also interested in goalkeeper Nick Pope, who is set for fresh competition at St James’ Park.
However, the 49ers’ prime target is Udinese centre-back Jaka Bijol.

Leeds United set for transfer tussle to sign Bijol
Leeds have been eyeing a move for Bijol for some time, after a successful three years with the Serie A outfit.
MORE LEEDS STORIES
The Pecocks have already submitted a bid of around £12.7million for the 26-year-old, but Udinese are looking for more.
Bijol has been a stalwart in the Italian side’s backline and made 34 appearances in Serie A last season.
The Slovenian has reportedly told his club and his teammates of his desire to leave, and he appears to have options.
Newcastle have entered the race to sign Bijol, who has already decided on a move to England, according to Sky Sports (15 June).
The 26-year-old has already agreed personal terms with Leeds for a four-year contract with the newly promoted club, and it’s said the 49ers will not hesitate to draw their gun and meet any demands.
However, news of the Magpies’ interest could change the picture, with Udinese looking for at least £17.07m.

Leeds must seal Bijol signing or live with regret
Given that one of the best teams in England are after Bijol, Leeds must do all they can to secure his services.
Bijol has been a consistent fixture for Udinese during his three-year stint and has proven himself in a top league.
Seeing as Leeds have already agreed personal terms with the Slovenian, it is just the fee that is standing in their way.
Of course, the Peacocks have every right to pursue a deal on their terms, but news of competition changes the picture.
The last thing the Yorkshire side will want is to miss out on a key target for them to join an English rival.
Hopefully for Leeds’ sake, Bijol has his heart set on a move to Elland Road.
