Reds star Luis Diaz and his long-term partner, Gera Ponce, have exchanged vows in a stunning wedding ceremony. The Liverpool winger, whose future remains up in the air, took to social media to share snippets from what he described as "the biggest day of our lives".
The romance between Luis and Gera dates back to their teenage years in 2016. After ten years together, Luis popped the question in an enchanting setting at Parroquia Inmaculada Concepción in Colombia, complete with candles, roses, and a dazzling fireworks display.
The pair have now made their union official in a gorgeous ceremony attended by loved ones. Posting on Instagram, Diaz expressed: "On the biggest day of our lives, shared with family and friends, I pronounce myself Mr and Mrs Diaz."
Diaz, a summer transfer target for Barcelona, posted a video of himself and his bride walking down the aisle, flanked by pristine white flowers and flickering candles, all set against a melodious backdrop.
Gera was resplendent in a classic white bridal gown, while Luis donned a sharp black suit, accented with a white lapel flower that complemented his bride's bouquet.
Another snapshot captured the newlyweds locked in an embrace, with sparklers igniting the moment as guests looked on. The accompanying caption declared: "My love, forever and ever."
The evening's festivities included a photo of Luis grinning alongside his mates at the reception, with the caption cheekily noting: "Slit and boots."
While the details of how Luis and Gera first came together remain a mystery, their bond has clearly stood the test of time. Together they are doting parents to two children, Roma, aged one, and Charlotte, aged two.
Earlier this week, the couple announced that their daughter Roma had been baptised. Diaz shared a series of photos from the christening on Instagram, captioning it: "May God bless you always my princess."
There's been a flurry of reports suggesting the 28 year old could be on his way out of Anfield, with Barcelona in La Liga and Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League touted as possible landing spots.
In the midst of these rumours, Gera took to social media to pen a heartfelt message to Liverpool fans. After the season concluded, Gera wrote: "To the incredible Liverpool fans.
"From the moment we arrived, we experienced first-hand what being part of this club means. We were familiar with the motto 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but hearing it sung with such fervour, witnessing the unwavering support and unconditional love... it confirmed to us that here, you truly never walk alone.
"This fanbase doesn't just support, it feels. And the warmth and acceptance you've shown my boyfriend and our entire family is something we hold dear.
"Thank you for the immense love, for your unwavering dedication, and for making us feel at home. Being part of this fan community is a privilege. There's no question about it: you're the best in the world. This is a genuine, deep and strong connection that reaffirms we'll never walk alone."
