**Will Osula was the hero for Denmark U21s in their first game of the European Championships, coming off the bench to assist an equaliser and then score the winner.**
Those heroics earned the Newcastle United forward a start in Denmark's second game, going up against the Netherlands.
It turned out to be a good move by the Denmark boss as Osula bagged a brace, helping the Danes to a 2-1 win and a three-point lead at the top of Group D.
That's three goals in two games now for Osula with an assist on top, leaving Newcastle fans wondering, we can have the Player of the Tournament in our group for two Euros in a row after Anthony Gordon scooped the award as he helped England to the title in 2023.
Will Osula bagged man of the match for Denmark

[GOAL](https://www.goal.com/en/match/netherlands-u21-vs-denmark-u21/sM5-ZXCDMRjLTMIkn2mzA) gave player ratings after the full-time whistle, and it was no surprise to see Will Osula top of the tree along with the Denmark goalkeeper, Andreas Jungdal, who both came out with an 8.7/10 for their efforts.
Osula had the Danes on level terms after the Netherlands took the lead in fortunate circumstances. A ball was whipped into the area with pace, and all Osula had to do was get a head on it and turn it goalwards from three yards out.
The Newcastle striker had to wait until the second half to put the game to bed, but after some nice passing play, Osula found himself one-on-one with the Dutch keeper, and the 21-year-old calmly slotted it home.
It wasn't such a good night for England, but Tino Livramento put in another fine performance
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meanwhile, Tino Livramento had a mixed evening with the England youngsters. The Newcastle full-back put in another good shift, but his exploits weren't matched by all of his teammates.
In the end, England could only manage a 0-0 draw with Slovenia, and as a result, will have to wait until game three to confirm their place in the quarter finals, which won't be easy as they go up against Germany who have already progressed.
Denmark's win sees them through regardless of what happens in the third game, so we've definitely got more Osula to come.
