West Ham United could take advantage of frailties at Chelsea to land Trevoh Chalobah this summer.

The Hammers will be desperate for a positive window, with defensive options potentially set to be a mainstay of the business conducted.

This is likely to be the case, especially after the departure of Aaron Cresswell and the general frailties of the East London club last campaign.

As a result, a move for Chalobah could be utilised as PSR looks set to take hold at Stamford Bridge once again.

Chalobah could join West Ham from Chelsea

Even with the permanent signing of Jean-Clair Todibo, new blood in the back line wouldn’t go amiss in E20 moving into the new season.

A hunt for cut-price deals could now start, especially for players with Premier League experience, which would certainly represent positive deals.

This could see the Irons make a move at Stamford Bridge, in an attempt to land Chalobah after a positive spell at Chelsea after returning from his Crystal Palace loan.

With that being said, a summer sale could be utilised by Enzo Maresca’s side, especially if financial issues take effect on the Blues.

This has seen former Brentford and Leicester City boss put forward the England international as a potential signing for the Hammers, moving into the summer window.

Speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone, Allen said: “It seems at Chelsea, like Chalobah, who got into the England squad and the Chelsea first team, his name seems to be bandied about quite often.

“Maybe it’s because he’s a homegrown player and he’ll help with their finances.

“If he were available and West Ham could squeeze a deal out, I would certainly take him because he’s quick and a good defender.

“*He would definitely be one whom I would be looking to get on board.*“

Chalobah swoop on the cards at West Ham

Recent reports have suggested that West Ham are struggling with PSR themselves, but business is still likely to be conducted.

This has seen a number of transfer targets emerge ahead of the transfer window’s opening date, with no deal yet gone through.

With that in mind, a sale could be required before any signings, or a swap deal could even be on the cards, especially with Chalobah.

Chelsea have been linked to Mohammed Kudus, with a potential player plus cash deal at Stamford Bridge potentially enough to tempt the Irons into a sale.
