But the football market does not always revolve around certainties. The former Milan player’s versatility has value. He can play on both flanks and also behind the striker, something Arteta likes. The Spanish coach tends to place a high value on players capable of adapting to different attacking roles. Still, Brahim is not the ideal left winger the team is looking for. He lacks explosiveness and that constant off-balance that great wingers offer in tight spaces.
If the signing of Rodrygo is blocked and Brahim is released, the deal could make sense. Especially if Madrid make it clear that they are not counting on him on a permanent basis.
