Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer as Rasmus Hojlund is seemingly on borrowed time at Old Trafford.
The Denmark international has failed to live up to his £72 million price tag that Erik ten Hag bought him for back in 2023 from Atalanta.
This season saw the 22-year-old go 21 consecutive games without a goal, with the first 20 having no goal contributions.
As such, Ruben Amorim is keen to sign a quality striker to restore some faith in Manchester United’s attack.
Already the club have been linked with Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres, however nothing has materialised as of yet.

However, The Athletic have analysed Ruben Amorim’s first-choice strikers during his time with Sporting CP to see the type of profile he prefers
Throughout his time in Portugal, winning five trophies in four and a half years, Amorim relied on Andraz Sporar, Paulinho and Viktor Gyokeres to lead his attack.
As such it shows that Amorim’s favourite striker to use is someone who’s tall and can play with their back to goal, with explosive pace and can make runs in behind defence.
It’s also noted that Amorim relies on strikers who are comfortable to hold the burden of being a primary goalscorer, with the willingness to take a high volume of shots and have the technical ability to beat a goalkeeper on the near post.
With Matheus Cunha already moved to United and Bryan Mbeumo seemingly on his way, it’s also pointing towards Amorim wanting a striker who will stay central, pushing the oppositions back lines, creating space for the creativity of Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
As the transfer window is open once more, United fans shouldn’t have long to wait before a new number 9 joins the club in Ruben Amorim’s new attacking trio.
