Fabrizio Romano shares update on Hugo Ekitike's priority move after Liverpool and Man Utd links

Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all been linked with a move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, and Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, has confirmed that he's still talking to all the aforementioned clubs, with no decision made yet.

Ekitike's performances for Frankfurt during the 2024/2025 campaign have turned the heads of clubs around Europe. After an initial loan spell with Frankfurt, Ekitike joined the Bundesliga club on a permanent deal, and it turned out to be a worthwhile addition.

United, Chelsea, and Liverpool all appear to be in the race to sign a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window. Although Chelsea brought Liam Delap to the club from Ipswich Town, the west London outfit are still being heavily linked to Ekitike.

It's no surprise that United are in the market to sign a new centre-forward in the summer transfer window, with both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling to make a significant impact since arriving at Old Trafford. Romano previously reported that Darwin Nunez is guaranteed to leave in the summer, so Liverpool will need to find a replacement.

Chelsea's interest is the most intriguing considering they've already secured the signature of Delap, but as we've seen in recent years, the Blues aren't afraid to splash the cash on new additions. Enzo Maresca's side have a host of young options in every position, and it appears that adding another centre-forward is one of their priorities.
