Man United’s hopes of banking a huge Alejandro Garnacho fee have been hit by his high-profile clash with Ruben Amorim, sources have told Football Insider.

In a well-publicised development, Amorim made it clear in no uncertain terms that Garnacho, 20, has no future at the club in the days following the end of the 2024-25 campaign.

Garnacho is attracting big interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham.

However, sources say United’s negotiating position has been hit by leaks emerging from the club over the winger’s future.

Man United’s Garnacho stance hit by Amorim clash

Amorim and Garnacho came to blows just days after the Argentina international expressed his unhappiness at being left on the bench for the Europa League final against Tottenham last month.

The winger, who was also linked with an Old Trafford exit in January, was given just 19 minutes to effect the final in Bilbao – which United lost 1-0.

Garnacho hit 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions for United in the 2024-25 campaign.

He will fetch pure profit for United under Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) after joining the club’s academy in 2020.

The winger has made 144 appearances for the Red Devils’ senior side, winning the FA Cup and League Cup.

Tottenham could gazump Man United in Mbeumo race

Meanwhile, Football Insider has revealed (13 June) that Tottenham could hijack Man United’s move to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo following Thomas Frank’s appointment as manager.

Frank’s arrival has added to the belief that Spurs could swoop ahead of United for his signature, with the forward previously preferring a move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham could be boosted by their Champions League qualification, while United have no European football to offer the Cameroon international for next season.
