Trent Alexander-Arnold has kicked off his stint with Real Madrid after being presented by the club on June 13, yet sentiments about the ex-Liverpool full-back are still potent on Merseyside.
The defender sealed his switch from Liverpool to join the Los Blancos contingent for the Club World Cup in the United States. Alexander-Arnold is set to feature in his first match for the team against Al-Hilal on Wednesday, June 18.

One video shared by the defender showcased his journey to Madrid. On June 13, he uploaded a video tagged with a house and white heart emoji to his X account.
Liverpool John Lennon Airport cheekily quoted the footballer's post on their own X handle, commenting "He even flew from Manchester" and initially using a snake emoji to drive their point home. The tweet was subsequently edited, replacing the snake with an eyeroll emoji.
Since going live, the post has garnered significant attention. It has quickly amassed likes and retweets into the hundreds, with numerous people responding and appreciating the airport's witty jab.
The decision to depart from Anfield has certainly ruffled some feathers in recent times. Trent Alexander-Arnold faced jeers from certain sections of the Liverpool faithful during the 2-2 stalemate with Arsenal, though he received a much warmer welcome a couple of weeks later as the squad hoisted the Premier League trophy aloft.
At his inaugural press conference as a player for Madrid, he expressed: "I want to show Real Madrid fans how I play. I do realise I'm signing for Real Madrid, the demands are high, but I'm going to give my all to the team and Real Madrid fans.
"I want to show those fans how I play. I want to win many titles, I want to be a winner here and enjoy playing alongside the best. Hala Madrid."
Alexander-Arnold's nearest and dearest, including his partner, were present for the momentous occasion. His girlfriend Estelle Behnke posted a photo with the caption "so proud" as she was pictured walking arm-in-arm with Alexander-Arnold, who donned the full Madrid strip.
During his press briefing following the reveal, where he conversed in English, Alexander-Arnold mentioned that he had been picking up Spanish for "a few months". This remark didn't exactly sit well with the Liverpool supporters.
Trent explained the rationale behind his actions, stating: "it was important to be able to do that and it shows that the intent I have got is to come here and have a good start, to get off on the right foot and to achieve something straight away, starting with the Club World Cup."
