Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati Bengals defensive end, seems to be in talks with the franchise once more regarding his contract extension, according to a recent report by renowned sports journalist, Jeremy Fowler. This comes after the defensive end condemned the team some time back for disregarding his extension and even threatened to sit out the upcoming NFL season if his demands are not met.
Hendrickson, who has been playing with the Cincinnati Bengals since 2017, is considered to be one of the most valuable players for the team. Numerous fans and analysts rallied their support for Hendrickson after the player alerted the team that he would not play unless he gets a solid extension deal.
Trey Hendrickson had perhaps the best season of his time with the Cincinnati Bengals last year and managed a total of 17.5 sacks for the team, which was essentially the highest in the NFL. The defensive end basically took the valuable expertise he built up during his time with the New Orleans Saints and poured that, along with his college football experience with the Florida Atlantic Owls, into his career with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Trey Hendrickson’s Situation Is A Distraction, Says Joe Burrow
While numerous fans and teammates have come out in support of Trey Hendrickson’s contract extension with the Cincinnati Bengals, starting quarterback Joe Burrow seems to have other thoughts. After the team’s most recent minicamp, Burrow was asked his thoughts on Hendrickson’s extension and the quarterback’s response startled fans.
“Last year we had two distractions. This year we have one. That’s definitely less. You’d love to have none but, you know, that’s life in the NFL. We’re all supporting Trey, and would love for him to be back.” QB Joe Burrow said to reporters about Trey Hendrickson’s situation.

For his cold-toned response on Trey Hendrickson’s negotiations with the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow indeed received plenty of ridicule and criticism from team fans. Many social media users took to the comments section as to how disappointed they are in Burrow’s behavior, especially since the same quarterback seemed to push the franchise for Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins’ deals. Another fan simply called Burrow ‘Mr. Excuses’, meaning that the quarterback can easily do more for Hendrickson’s extension with his team.
