Who is Maya Jama dating?
According to reports, Jama is currently dating Manchester City centre-back, Ruben Dias. The 28-year-old Portuguese footballer reportedly met the Love Island host at the MTV EMAs in Manchester in November 2024.
They then began a quiet relationship before heading out for their first public appearance at a football game in May 2025. “Maya and Ruben seemed very close, very loved up and were clearly very comfortable with each other," a source told The Sun. “They were chatting to others around them but gravitated back to each other. They seem very happy with each other.”
The pair went Instagram official later that month, when Jama included Dias in a post featuring images from their romantic getaway to the Amalfi Coast, pre-Love Island season 12. “Amalfi coasting,” she wrote in the caption. In the final picture, the pair could be seen gazing into each other's eyes on board a boat.
Jama posted another series of images from the trip that she captioned, “Romantica.” The post included an image of Jama holding a truly giant bouquet of red roses aboard what looked like a private plane along with a picture of Dias and Jama's shadows as they kissed. Very cute and very subtle work, Maya.

Maya Jama on her relationships
Jama was previously linked to rapper Stormzy. The dated from 2015 to 2019 and again from 2023 until the summer of 2024.
“I am a single bitch! It doesn’t feel that different, nothing has changed that much except I am just with my friends more and out more,” Jama told us at GLAMOUR in 2019 after their first break up.
In 2024, following their second break-up, Jama told The Evening Standard, “I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I’m feeling fussy. I’ve created such a nice life for myself alone and I don’t want anyone who’s not going to add to that."
She added, "I’m in this lovely bubble and I don’t want you unless you make me happy. If you’re not, I kind of don’t need you. One thing I’ve learned: some people are like, ‘I’m lonely, I need someone.’ But the mission in life is to make yourself happy, then find someone who brings something that matches that to the table.”
It looks like she may have finally found that person in Ruben Dias.
