Benjamin Sesko has already named the dream club he ‘would love to play for’ and it is not Arsenal

Benjamin Sesko appears to be the No.1 target for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta pursues a new striker this summer.

Respected Portuguese journalist Sebastiao Sousa-Pinto claims that Sesko is Arteta’s priority instead of Sporting CP No.9 Viktor Gyokeres, despite the Sweden international scoring 54 goals in 52 appearances last season.

In comparison, the Slovenia international netted 21 strikes in 45 games.

However, even if Arsenal do end up signing Benjamin Sesko this summer, the Gunners are not actually the club of his dreams.

Benjamin Sesko has named Real Madrid as his dream club

The RB Leipzig No.30 was asked by Slovenian news outlet Siol back in December 2023 to name which club he would like to play for the most, and Real Madrid were picked ahead of Arsenal.

Sesko revealed: “I would love to play for Real Madrid. These are big words, but I will try my best, and then we will see where it will take me.”

Therefore, if Arsenal do sign the Slovenian, and Real Madrid come calling later down the line, Arteta could be in store for a difficult conversation.

The latest on Benjamin Sesko as Arsenal face RB Leipzig problem

Before we even get to the hypothetical scenario of Arsenal needing to fend off Real Madrid, the Gunners must hope for a resolution between the 22-year-old and RB Leipzig.

TBR Football understand Sesko is currently frustrated with RB Leipzig after the Bundesliga outfit went back on a promise they made, as they now demand £67m for a sale, when the Radece-born striker had previously been told he can leave for £59m.

That is a sizeable gap, and Arsenal would obviously prefer to spend the lower amount, so Arteta will hope a solution can be found soon, or else the Spaniard might have to wait even longer before a new striker arrives at the Emirates Stadium.
