Whilst links between the Spanish defender and Manchester United have quietened down, It looks like the centre-back could be headed to LaLiga for next season.

According to El Correo, as reported by Estadio Depotivo, Athletic Club are pushing to sign Laporte to bolster their defence for next season.

It’s understood that Athletic have made contact with both Al-Nassr and Aymeric Laporte to understand his availability and feelings towards a return to the Basque side.

With Laporte wanting a return to Europe, and Athletic having Champions League next season, there’s a strong lure to suggest we could see the centre-back in red and white once again.
