The clubs will meet in a friendly at Walsall’s Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium on Wednesday, August 6 (kick-off 7.30pm), in one of the final warm-up matches for Unai Emery’s team ahead of the new Premier League season.
It will be the second time Villa have faced Italian opposition at Bescot, having played Roma’s city rivals Lazio at the venue two summers ago.
The club has also confirmed an additional fixture on their pre-season tour of the US, with Emery’s men taking on Eintracht Frankfurt in Louisville on Saturday, July 26.
Villa also face Major League Soccer teams St Louis City on July 29 and Nashville SC on August 2 as part of their Stateside trip.
The Roma match is just the second pre-season friendly announced for the UK so far, both of which are due to take place at Bescot with Villa taking on Walsall themselves at the venue on Wednesday, July 16.
They are also scheduled to travel to Germany to play Third Division club Hansa Rostock on Saturday, July 19.
Villa have regularly used Bescot as a home venue for pre-season friendlies in recent years, to allow more time for work to take place on the Villa Park stadium pitch.
The ground is due to host four major concerts in the coming weeks, which delays work on the surface.
Fixtures for the new Premier League season, which kicks off on Friday, August 15, are due to be announced on Wednesday.
