Manchester City seem to be building a squad that look far more ready than during the previous campaign to succeed on multiple fronts.
Crucially, Rodri has been back from his ACL injury for weeks and the additions of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki look like brilliant ones.
Last season, it seemed like Manchester City suffered a qualitative issue both defensively and offensively, which meant they could not get their hands on a single piece of silverware.
But this summer, the Sky Blues seem prepared to pull out all the stops to bolster their roster, with Manchester City interested in signing Tino Livramento despite having brought in three fresh faces.
Livramento could stay at Newcastle United, however and Eddie Howe has no intention of letting him go.
Manchester City should keep Matheus Nunes
Manchester City view Livramento as Kyle Walker’s heir and it would be disappointing for them if they fail to land the Newcastle right-back.

But in the event that City are unable to sign the 22-year-old, they should keep hold of Matheus Nunes, who has impressed as a makeshift right-back for Pep Guardiola.

Regardless, Nunes’ future is uncertain at Manchester City and he could potentially be on his way out this summer.
However, Pep Guardiola should vouch for the Portuguese international to stay as he has been reliable at right-back, being solid defensively, winning his duels aerially and on the ground and being somewhat of a threat down the flank due to his intelligent movement and dangerous crossing.
While Nunes, who cost Manchester City £54.5 million might perhaps never turn into an elite right-back, for the time being, he could continue to do a job for the Sky Blues, as Guardiola stated in April.

Rico Lewis sees himself in midfield and while he is a top-quality youngster, whether he can deal with the Premier League’s physicality as a full-back is questionable.
As for Manuel Akanji, he is not a natural right-back either and considering City are not spoilt for choice in the position, they might as well persist with Nunes even if they do sign an upgrade on him.
Man City interested in signing Kiliann Sildillia
However, Manchester City are eyeing Kiliann Sildillia from SC Freiburg.
Sildillia’s contract expires at 2026 and only time will tell whether City increase the efforts to sign the Frenchman, who is currently playing at the U-21 European Championship.
Considering Nunes can do a job as a right-back and on the right-wing while playing in midfield as well, Manchester City have no reason to part ways with him.
