Following a record-breaking campaign for Nottingham Forest, we’re looking back across the season, reliving key moments, memorable matches and stunning strikes from across the 2024/25 campaign.
Forest returned to winning ways in March with two penalty shoot-out successes in the Emirates FA Cup and six points in the Premier League from our four matches across the month.
First, the FA Cup. The Reds welcomed Ipswich Town to the City Ground on March 3 where Ryan Yates headed Forest level after George Hirst had given the away side the lead.
Yates was denied a second by the offside flag as the tie progressed to extra time and eventually penalties, with neither side able to find a winner in normal play.
After five successful spot kicks from the Reds, and four from the Tractor Boys, Jack Taylor stepped up only to be denied by a flying Matz Sels to secure Forest’s place in the quarter finals.
The following Saturday, Premier League champions Manchester City travelled to the City Ground in the early kick-off.

After a tense, goalless first half, Callum Hudson-Odoi’s stinging effort was tipped onto the post by Ederson in the City goal before the Forest winger collected a stunning cross field pass from Morgan Gibbs-White, drove into the visitors’ box and finished at the near post to seal the three points.
Ipswich were Forest’s next Premier League opponents the following weekend as the Reds travelled to Portman Road in search of a successive league win.
The Reds enjoyed the better of the play in the opening half hour before Nikola Milenković drilled the ball into the net after the home side failed to deal with a corner.

Six minutes later and Nuno Espírito Santo’s side were three goals to the good thanks to Anthony Elanga’s brace; the first a stunning solo strike from his left boot, the second a clinical finish after a long pass forward from Milenković.
Jens Cajuste pulled a goal back for the home side before Jota added Forest’s fourth with three minutes remaining when the Portuguese winger finished well after being picked out by Gibbs-White. Hirst added a second for the home side in stoppage time.
Our final game of the month came in the same competition as it started, the FA Cup.
Brighton & Hove Albion stood between the Reds and a first semi-final in the competition since 1991, and it would be a familiar tale across the 90 minutes as the previous round, a goalless 120 minutes and another tense shoot-out.
Sels produced back-to-back saves to deny Jack Hinshelwood and Diego Gómez, giving Yates the chance to drill the ball into the net from 12 yards and book our place in the competition’s semi-finals.
