Nets/76ers Looking To Move Up in the NBA Draft to Select Dylan Harper

It should come as no surprise that many teams in the NBA draft are looking to move up to select former Rutgers basketball star Dylan Harper. He is seen as the unanimous second best prospect available behind Cooper Flagg and would be the No.1 prospect in most years.

As of right now, the San Antonio Spurs hold the second overall pick, however, several local teams are making a push to move into that spot. The first one is the Philadelphia 76ers who currently sit right behind the Spurs in the draft order. They are expected to take another Rutgers star, Ace Bailey if they cannot move up.

The only issue with the 76ers trading up one spot is that they do not have much they are willing to give up to make the trade worthwhile for the Spurs. According to Sam Vecenie of The Athletic, the only way this deal could be made is if current Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo were somehow part of the deal. This trade-up scenario seems the less likely of the two.

The other trade up scenario involves the Brooklyn Nets, who have a significant amount of draft capital to trade. There are rumors that they are trying to gather a few of their first round picks, along with some veteran talent, to offer the Spurs a package deal for their No.2 overall selection. This deal sounds much more appealing on paper because it still gives San Antonio picks to build their future with along with pieces to start winning now.

In the end, it all comes down to whether or not the Spurs are willing to trade the pick.
