Darwin Nunez is in demand across Italy, Spain and Saudi Arabia this summer transfer window. AC Milan, Al-Hilal, Atletico Madrid and Napoli are all clubs credited with an interest in the Liverpool striker.

The former were keen on a deal before the Club World Cup, but no agreement was forthcoming. Liverpool also rejected an approach from the Saudi Pro League in January.

There is, though, an increasing chance Nunez departs this summer, with those three clubs tracking the player, plus that long-standing interest from the Middle East. Despite the latter, the latest suggestion is that he would prefer to stay in Europe.

The Mirror claims Nunez has made that clear, albeit they acknowledge signing for a Saudi club would be able to 'tick most of the financial boxes'. Liverpool would also appear more likely to receive the £70million fee they are said to be happy to cash their centre-forward in for.

Over in Italy, the sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport acknowledges the price tag will be high because of how much the Reds paid Benfica. A figure below circa £40million is said to be unthinkable.

That reporting came after the publication claimed Milan were recently offered Nunez. They also state Liverpool 'certainly can't overdo the discounts', claiming the striker still costs circa £35million on their balance sheet.

The player's salary is also said to be high at around £4million net per season, which works out to around £77,000 a week after deductions. Nunez is said to want a change of scenery amid a description of being 'at odds' with the Reds, but the newspaper did not expand on exactly why.

Nunez is purportedly one of several names on Milan's list of strikers. Gazzetta also acknowledges that Napoli has considered the Uruguay international, a signing that their head coach, Antonio Conte, reputedly would gladly accept.

As reported by the ECHO on Monday, Liverpool are huge fans of Newcastle United's Alexander Isak as they continue to be linked with signing a new striker amid a possible departure for Nunez.

The Reds are also monitoring the future of Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike.
