Chargers Predicted to Trade for Commanders’ Star WR for Massive Draft Pick Haul

It’s no surprise to anyone who follows the team that the Los Angeles Chargers are in the market for a wide receiver.

After they let franchise legends Keenan Allen and Mike Williams leave in free agency last offseason, the team pivoted to a younger core at the position, but they disappointed mightily.

Second-round rookie Ladd McConkey was the only player who impacted the passing game consistently, so the Chargers know they need to make Justin Herbert’s life easier.

It’s tough to find any impact players at this point in the offseason, but luckily for them, there is a disgruntled receiver in the NFC who may be available soon.

Terry McLaurin, Washington Football Team

The Washington Commanders are coming off their most successful season in decades and they believe they are in prime position to compete for a championship.

However, star receiver Terry McLaurin is also coming off his most successful season as a pro and he wants to be highly compensated for it which could throw a wrench in Washington’s plans.

By all accounts, it is extremely likely that the two sides are able to agree on a deal before the season, but if not then there is a very real possibility that McLaurin requests a trade.

In the event of this, the Chargers should be on the phones instantly trying to acquire him.

Bleacher Report crafted a mock trade between the two teams that had Los Angeles receiving McLaurin in return for second and fourth-round picks and wideout Quentin Johnston.

This would be a hefty price to pay for a receiver who has never eclipsed the 1,200 yard mark, but his talent is glaring and last year was the first time he’s ever played with a great quarterback.

The Chargers and Herbert could be the perfect place to for the former third-round pick to ascend to elite status.
