Everton announce historic fixture at Hill Dickinson Stadium for final preseason friendly

Everton today announced that they will be taking on AS Roma in their final preseason fixture before the commencement of the 2025-26 Premier League season. A home friendly against the Italian side, who are also owned by The Friedkin Group, was widely expected to be the first full event at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley Moore Dock and that was confirmed.

The new arena has held two test events hosting limited capacities of fans with the Blues’ youth sides featuring, but this will be the first opportunity for the supporters to see the first team in action at the ground.

The match is scheduled for Saturday 9th August with kick-off at 3pm. Fans will have the chance to fully explore their new surroundings with The Plaza opening at noon. They will be able to enjoy live entertainment and sample a wide variety of food and beverage options across The Plaza and within the concourses which will open at 1pm.

Everton are scheduled to play six preseason friendlies this summer, ending with the Roma game.

July 15th, 7:45pm - at Accrington Stanley (Wham Stadium)

July 19th, 3pm - at Blackburn Rovers (Ewood Park)

July 26th, 9pm - vs AFC Bournemouth (Premier League Summer Series, New Jersey)

July 30th, 11:30pm - vs West Ham United (Premier League Summer Series, Chicago)

August 3rd, 10pm - vs Manchester United (Premier League Summer Series, Atlanta)

August 9th, 3pm - vs AS Roma (Hill Dickinson Stadium)

With widespread turnover and a large number of new recruits expected to be signed this summer, playing six friendlies should help David Moyes gauge what his best side for the upcoming season will be.

The Premier League will announce the 2025-26 fixtures schedule early on Wednesday 18th June.
