The Englishman scored in the UEFA Conference League final against Real Betis, however struggled to produce consistent levels in the Premier League.
As a result, the Blues opted against making the move permanent, instead triggering a £5million penalty clause to return Sancho to Manchester United.

There’s a very low likelihood that he will feature in Ruben Amorim’s plans next season.
The club are desperate to move him on.
However, a major issue has now emerged.
GiveMeSport sources have revealed that Sancho is refusing to lower his £300,000-per-week wage demands, complicating United’s efforts to secure his exit this summer.
The 25-year-old is open to rejoining Borussia Dortmund for a third spell after tallying 13 goal contributions last season across two loan stints.
Dortmund chief Sebastien Kehl did in fact, recently speak on rumours linking Sancho back to Signal Iduna Park.
However as per GMS, he’s made it clear that a pay cut is off the table.

While Dortmund are keen, they are not prepared to break their wage structure and are currently exploring whether United would be willing to subsidise part of his salary.
United, who have already spent £62.5million on Matheus Cunha, are under pressure to recoup funds.
Sancho is one of several attackers – including Alejandro Garnacho – that the club want to sell.
Interest from Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle, Napoli and AC Milan could yet materialise.
However as it stands, Sancho’s demands remain a major obstacle in resolving his Old Trafford future.
