Some reports have made it seem like a Kevin Durant trade could be imminent, yet the Phoenix Suns are reportedly still sorting through their options. Durant has reportedly let it be known that he prefers a trade to either the Houston Rockets, Miami Heat, or San Antonio Spurs, all teams located in a state without income tax.
However, the Suns are not operating like they can only negotiate with those three teams. After missing the playoffs this past season, the Suns are trying to find the best deal possible in an effort to return to contender status.
Based on the latest reports from [ESPN’s NBA insider Brian Windhorst](https://x.com/GormanChristoph/status/1934622306963526042), the Suns aren’t any closer to reaching a deal with any of Durant’s preferred landing spots. In fact, the Suns are underwhelmed with the offers they’ve received from the Heat, Rockets, and Spurs.
> “From what I understand, the three teams on Durant’s list, Miami, San Antonio and Houston, have not made offers that have gotten Phoenix excited, to this point.”

If the Heat, Rockets, and Spurs can’t present a respectable offer, then the Suns will likely move on to other teams pursuing Durant. With other teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers, Minnesota Timberwolves, and Toronto Raptors reported to have interest in the future first-ballot Hall of Famer, the Suns could be ready to just accept the best deal they receive, even if it doesn’t match Durant’s preferences.
