Everyone is paying close attention to see what happens with Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns.
Most people assume that Durant will be traded from the Suns soon, but where will he land?
Speaking on ESPN, Brian Windhorst mentioned a couple of dark horse teams who may be in the mix for Durant, even if they aren’t talked about a lot right now.
“You don’t see Toronto on Durant’s list, but the Raptors are one of the teams lurking out there. And I think there’s a couple others, including the Los Angeles Clippers. This is still wide open. Maybe Durant gets what he wants. Maybe he has to accept something else,” Windhorst said, via Joey Linn.
Brian Windhorst says the Clippers are a potential Kevin Durant suitor:

Windhorst compared the situation to the one featuring Kawhi Leonard years ago.
Leonard’s future was also up in the air, and multiple teams were reportedly trying to acquire him, and then he suddenly and surprisingly headed to the Toronto Raptors.
Will the same thing happen again with Durant?
The Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, and Miami Heat are allegedly the top contenders to get Durant, but the Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers cannot be counted out.
It is important to remember that Durant will end up with the team that offers the best deal to the Suns.
Phoenix is looking to really take advantage of this Durant trade and get the most out of it.
They ultimately don’t have to pay attention to his preferences, and they will simply look at what helps them the most.
While the Rockets, Spurs, and Heat might be frontrunners, the Raptors and Clippers could put together a package the Suns cannot refuse, and that may make all the difference.
