Skip Bayless says the Pittsburgh Steelers are the front runners for Arch Manning

Skip Bayless did not like the Pittsburgh Steelers’ offseason additions, especially when they signed quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In a video posted to X, Bayless questions what the Steelers were doing here, saying that Rodgers has looked washed for the last five years.

“He was washed his last three years in Green Bay,” Bayless said. “Go look at the numbers of his last three playoff games in Green Bay … I told the Jets he was washed... What has become of the Pittsburgh Steelers? I don’t hate them anymore, I pity them.”

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Rodgers came in as the team’s third choice, ahead of those like Russell Wilson, so the Steelers were content waiting him out.

However, Bayless went one step further with his critique of the Steelers, now saying they could have the worst record in the NFL and the front runners to land hyped-up quarterback Arch Manning.

“I hurt for Steelers fans because you want to talk about a cornerstone, highly respected franchise until now. Ten years since you won a playoff game and now, it sure appears that you could be the frontrunner in what I assume or presume is going to be the Arch Manning derby next year. You just could have the worst record in the league, especially stuck in that division with that new quarterback,” Bayless said on the Skip Bayless Show.

Rodgers had 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions in 2024. He went just 5-12 in his starts with the Jets, and even after they acquired All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams, went just 3-8. It was a tough season for Rodgers, who also had multiple leg injuries.

The Steelers think something remains in the tank for the former four-time MVP. They zeroed in on him as their target, as a result, especially after missing on re-signing Justin Fields.

Now, Rodgers will be with the Steelers on a deal that will not break the bank, and could still land them another wide receiver to help Rodgers.
