The Phoenix Suns reportedly are taking calls on superstar Kevin Durant and making them about Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Porzingis.
… But that’s not to say it would be a one-for-one swap, of course.
The Suns have done “background work” on Porzingis, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer as shared by Bleacher Report. Phoenix also has kicked the tires on impending free agent Myles Turner, which further confirms the team’s interest in adding a big man.
As for the Celtics, it’s not the first time Porzingis has been included in trade speculation this offseason. Teams around the league know the Green need to offload salary in some fashion, which has prompted rumors pertaining to the star-studded roster. However, it’s not known just how much cutting Boston will do this offseason.
Learning the trade markets for Jrue Holiday, Sam Hauser and Porzingis is Boston’s “primary focus” this offseason, according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.

So while the Celtics reportedly would prefer to retain Porzingis and extend him on a cheaper deal, there’s certainly still a possibility he’s not representing Boston when the 2025-26 campaign tips off.
