Manchester United are in the market for a new striker this summer and may fancy raiding Erik ten Hag’s Bayer Leverkusen.
Manchester United now have Matheus Cunha on board following the Brazilian’s move from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Ruben Amorim still needs more firepower, though, and one target has already slipped through United’s grasp.
Liam Delap has chosen to join Chelsea despite having an offer to sign for United from Ipswich Town.
The attention must turn to other strikers and United have been heavily linked with Viktor Gyokeres in a potential reunion with his former Sporting boss Amorim.
Hugo Ekitike is also on United’s radar, but one other Bundesliga goalscorer is one to watch this summer.

Erik ten Hag fighting to keep Manchester United target Patrik Schick
Reports in April suggested that United had shown a real interest in signing Bayer Leverkusen attacker Patrik Schick.
United allegedly made contact over signing Schick, with Leverkusen allegedly demanding around £26million for his signature.

That price would fit into United’s budget and the Czech hitman scored 21 goals in 31 Bundesliga games this past season.
Schick is 29, which may deter United, and reports in Germany suggest he may now be staying with Leverkusen after all.
Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg claims Schick has now received ‘multiple enquiries’ from England and Serie A.
However, new Leverkusen boss Erik ten Hag does not want to lose Schick and is determined to keep him.
Schick himself sees Ten Hag’s arrival as a ‘fresh start’ and is seemingly looking forward to playing under the Dutchman following Xabi Alonso’s move to Real Madrid.
Schick could even sign a new contract to stay with Leverkusen, as his current deal expires in just two years.
Leverkusen have already lost Jonathan Tah and Jeremie Frimpong, with Florian Wirtz set to follow in the coming days.
Losing Schick would be a huge blow to Ten Hag’s hopes of challenging Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga next season, and the striker’s interest in staying put means United may miss out.

However, staying at Bayer 04 Leverkusen is absolutely possible at this stage. Erik ten Hag wants to keep him, and Schick sees it as a fresh start.

Manchester United should continue lurking for Schick
Losing out on Delap was a real blow, given that he had a bargain release clause in his Ipswich contract.
Strikers such as Gyokeres and Ekitike will cost huge sums, whereas Schick’s rumoured asking price fits right into United’s spending plans.
United would, ideally, prefer to sign a younger striker who can give Amorim some quality in the final third for years to come.
Schick doesn’t offer the same longevity, but around £26million for a proven Bundesliga goalscorer is very appealing.
Schick doesn’t appear to be angling for a move away, but United should continue to keep tabs on the striker – especially as Leverkusen want Antony.
This summer could be the time for United to offer Schick a big move away from Leverkusen, possibly in a deal which sees Antony go in the opposite direction.
Schick doesn’t offer the wow factor of Gyokeres or the excitement of Ekitike, but he could be a smart move in order to free up funds for other areas in the United rebuild.
