Nico Collins Draws Comparison To 2 Notable NFL WRs

The Houston Texans entered last season as a legitimate dark horse to play in the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

Though they returned to the playoffs, they didn’t boast the same explosiveness as they did in C.J. Stroud’s first year as an NFL quarterback.

Plenty of that had to do with offensive line struggles, and injuries to their wide receivers didn’t help the cause.

Now, even with some new faces on board, Nico Collins will again be tasked with putting the passing game on his shoulders as their undisputed No. 1 receiver.

However, as big a task as that might be, fellow NFL wideout Mike Evans believes Collins will be up for it.

Talking to FOX Sports, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers star compared Collins to himself and a former star.

> “He’s kind of like a mix of me and Julio Jones. He’s 6-4, 6-5, but he can run up and catch like Julio and he has muscles like Julio. He has the length like me. I love Nico’s game,” Evans [said](https://www.foxsports.com/stories/nfl/mike-evans-favorite-young-receivers-nfl-justin-jefferson-jamarr-chase).

Those are two big names to measure up against, but Collins should be up for the challenge.

He had 68 receptions for 1,006 yards and seven touchdowns in just 12 games last season.

Tank Dell is a long shot to be ready to play this season as he recovers from a serious leg injury, and Stefon Diggs left as a free agent.

The Texans brought in Christian Kirk and drafted Jayden Higgins, and they should round out the WR unit next to Collins.

The offensive line is still a question mark, but if it can give Stroud some time to move around in the pocket, Collins could be in for a career year.
