Bobby Portis Reacts to Free Agency Rumors Linking Him to the Golden State Warriors

The NBA offseason has started this summer, and some booming acquisitions have already begun.

With the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies kicking off the offseason frenzy with a trade that sent Desmond Bane to the Magic in exchange for four first-round picks, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Cole Anthony, there will be more moves before the start of the 2025-26 NBA season.

10-year veteran Bobby Portis will have a lot of thinking to do this offseason as well, going into this summer as an unrestricted free agent.

Portis spent five seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks from 2020-2025, winning the 2021 NBA Championship while playing a significant role with the team in their run.

He just completed the final season of the four-year, $48.5 million contract he signed with the Bucks in 2022 and will look to secure a new deal – whether that's back with Milwaukee or elsewhere in the NBA.

After spending some time with Michelle Beadle, Lou Williams, and Chandler Parsons on Run It Back on Monday morning, he was asked about some rumors that speculate Portis signing with the Golden State Warriors.

"There are rumors out there, for example, that Golden State might be interested... How do you handle that?" Michelle Beadle asked.

"My first thought when it comes to these reports is, 'How do these people know so much?'" Portis responded.

Bobby Portis played as the Bucks' sixth man coming off the bench in the majority of the games he's appeared in in the past couple of seasons.

He was suspended for 25 games without pay last season for violating the league's anti-drug policy.

He returned from his suspension in time for the playoffs, but the Bucks were eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Pacers. Portis was one of Milwaukee's top contributors in the series, averaging 14.0 points and .2 rebounds while shooting 44.1% from the field.

Free agency in the NBA doesn't open until early July, so there won't be any signings until then, but keep the Golden State Warriors in mind for when Portis decides on his next journey in his career.
