Fans of the Portland Trail Blazers didn’t see much of Matisse Thybulle last season because of an injury, but new reporting suggests they will get a lot more of him in 2025-26.
According to Rob Murrows, Thybulle is expected to exercise his $11.5 million player option for the upcoming season and is planning to play a lot more for his Blazers.

Thybulle came to the Blazers in the 2022-23 season and has played a total of 102 games for them since.
He was supposed to be a bigger part of the team last season, but his recovery from an injury took much longer than expected.
He ultimately only played in 15 games, averaging 7.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists on 47.7 percent from the field.
Because of his time away from the court, Thybulle didn’t have a lot of options going into the summer.
He could decline his player option and see what other teams have to offer, but it’s unlikely they would jump at the chance to sign him.
Staying in Portland probably makes the most sense until he can get more time under his belt and show that he is really healed.
It’s been up-and-down career for Thybulle since being the 20th overall draft pick in 2019.
He has never been able to really impress the way that some people had hoped.
The Trail Blazers are undergoing some changes right now and attempting to create a stronger identity and move forward.
Can Thybulle be a part of that?
If he can stay healthy and play more, there is every reason to believe next season could be promising for him.
And now it sounds like fans know where he will be playing.
