Liverpool are poised to hand Florian Wirtz a contract which could see him pocket in the region of £12.8million-per-year after moving to within touching distance of confirming him as the latest Anfield recruit from Bundesliga heavyweights Bayer Leverkusen, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.
Reds boss Arne Slot has already raided the German giants since getting his hands on the Premier League title, with Jeremie Frimpong completing a £29.5million switch after his release clause was triggered last month, but he is set to be joined by a familiar face on Merseyside in the coming days.

Wirtz is preparing to pen a contract which will see him earn in excess of €12m (£10.2million) per year when he seals his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen later this week, according to GMS sources, but his annual salary will rise to a maximum figure close to €15m (£12.8million) annually - or £245,000-a-week - if individual and team performance targets are met.
The Germany international is set to make a record-breaking move to Anfield after the Reds agreed a £116.5million deal with his current employers last week, which will result in him surpassing Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo as the most expensive acquisition in British history.
GMS sources have been informed that Liverpool have not shattered their wage structure to make the switch possible and, having found a compromise with Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz is scheduled to arrive on Merseyside on Thursday in preparation for completing the formalities of the deal on Friday.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has been described as 'phenomenal' by journalist Graeme Bailey and will be tasked with playing a key role in the Reds looking to defend their Premier League title when he officially signs on the dotted line as Dutch tactician Slot's latest acquisition.
Liverpool executives mentioned Napoli marksman Victor Osimhen as a possible target when discussing striker options on the market during a high-ranking meeting earlier this month, GMS sources recently revealed, highlighting that there could be further business to negotiate in the coming months.
