Kevin Durant’s time with the Phoenix Suns is winding down, and we could hear an update about his next steps at any moment.
A number of teams are vying for Durant, and it seems like frontrunners rise and fall consistently in the quest to get him.
According to Marc Stein, per Fullcourtpass, the Miami Heat are in “legitimate pursuit” of Durant.
Stein said that the Heat’s offer to Phoenix “could even prove to be the most enticing from the Suns’ perspective.”

If this is true, then the Heat are the new favorites to acquire Durant.
There is no doubt that he would bring a lot to this team, and he would be their biggest trade in years.
The Heat have been relatively reserved on the trade market over the last few years, aside from that big move with Jimmy Butler.
The fact that they are aggressively pursuing Durant shows just how much they want him because it’s unlike them.
But, who and what would they give up to get him?
The Suns want a lot in return for Durant, and Miami has to be careful not to send too many assets and players to Phoenix, or else Durant will be playing with a decimated roster.
They need to move quickly because other teams are currently doing their best to put together the right package for the Suns.
If the rumors are true, things could move quickly with this situation, and we could learn of Durant’s new home this week.
