The Memphis Grizzlies shook things up this weekend when they traded away Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic.
Some people feel that it may be just the first of many moves they pursue this summer.
Writing on X, Kevin O’Connor said the Grizzlies should blow up their current roster and trade Ja Morant.
He went on about why Morant needs to go.
“Ja Morant is overrated by Grizzlies fans. Subpar from 3. Inconsistent defense. This year got to the rim a career-low % of the time. Rarely healthy. Hasn’t played in 75% of games in a year since 2021. Morant is somewhere around the NBA’s 40th to 50th best player. Good, not great,” O’Connor posted on X.

If the Grizzlies are listening to O’Connor, then Morant really might be gone.
There have been other people saying the same thing.
They believe that Morant isn’t contributing enough to the team for a number of reasons.
He is hurt far more often these days, and his performances when healthy aren’t what they used to be.
Plus, he has had multiple off-court scandals that have affected the amount of time he has played.
Still, even though he hasn’t been as consistent, his 23.2 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists were important for the team last season.
So, is there a chance that the Bane trade was the beginning of an eventful summer for the Grizzlies?
If Memphis does move Morant, it’ll be a radical shake-up that will change the future of the team for many years to come.
O’Connor and others think it’s the right move, but the Grizzlies will probably stick with Morant, at least for one more season.
