As the offseason gets going, the biggest question around the Los Angeles Lakers remains what the future holds for star forward LeBron James. James is eligible to enter free agency by declining his player option for next season.
Nobody really knows what James will do, but there has been some thought that he will opt into the $52.6 million deal. James has hinted at retirement in each of the past few offseasons, and if this upcoming year is his last, opting in would make the most sense.

But either way, James isn't likely to play in the NBA for much longer. However, there have been questions about whether or not he could coach in the league after his retirement.
Well, James has answered that question, opening up on the subject during a recent episode of his podcast, Mind the Game.
"There's no way. There's no way, guys...but it ain't happening. No team...zero chance."
James's lack of desire to coach isn't surprising considering all the criticism that has come his way over his career. But star players like James also tend to find little success as coaches due to the massive expectations they would have from players.

Some examples are Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Steve Nash, and others. While some have worked out, there has been an overwhelming number that have failed.
James also has expressed a desire to own a franchise after his playing days are over. The Lakers' star has been linked to the future expansion team in Las Vegas, if it ever happens.
Los Angeles is still relying on James heavily, even at his advanced age. But the star hasn't slowed down in terms of on-court production.
Last season, James averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game. James will be entering his 23rd season in the NBA this year, and has accomplished things that most people never thought would be possible.
But for now, James will look to finish off his legendary career over the next year or two. James still has a lot left in the tank and is likely debating what the future holds for his time in the NBA.
