Manchester United could turn their attention away from Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez after the Red Devils have reportedly been linked with an emerging talent.
Emiliano Martinez has been linked with Manchester United and the 32-year-old Argentine is believed to be interested in making the move to Old Trafford.
The 2022 World Cup winner has been a key player for Aston Villa manager Unai Emery, but the Premier League club is open to selling Martinez in the summer.
Villa need to address their current financial situation and Martinez is believed to be valued at around £40m by the Premier League club amid the summer window.
Martinez is under contract at Villa Park until 2029 and the Argentina international has made 212 appearances for the club after his £17m move from Arsenal in 2020.
The World Cup-winning shot stopper has attracted interest from Galatasaray, but Martinez is reportedly keen to stay in England and United is his preferred club.

Man Utd and Ruben Amorim could make a transfer move for Atalanta star Marco Carnesecchi instead of Aston Villa ace Emiliano Martinez
Ruben Amorim does face a big question mark over his preferred option for Manchester United between the sticks for the 2025-26 campaign at Old Trafford.
Both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir were prone to howlers last season and the club could search for a new option amid Amorim’s overhaul of the United first team.
Emiliano Martinez is one alternative for United this summer, but the Red Devils have now been linked with a move for Atalanta shot-stopper Marco Carnesecchi.
That is according to Corriere della Sera (as per Sport Witness), which claims that rising Atalanta player Marco Carnesecchi is seen as a ‘coveted’ option for the club.
Carnesecchi has risen through the ranks of the Atalanta youth academy and has made 76 appearances for the Serie A outfit’s first team since his emergence.

How much would Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi cost Man Utd compared with Aston Villa No 1 Emiliano Martinez?
Marco Carnesecchi is under contract with the Serie A club until 2028 and the 24-year-old Italian made 44 appearances across all competitions last season alone.
The Atalanta man has been called up for Italy after becoming his side’s first-team choice, but he has not been capped by his country at the time of writing.
As per Corriere della Sera’s report, Sport Witness said that it expects Atalanta to be ‘patient’ over any transfer approach for Carnesecchi in the summer window.
It is believed that the Serie A team would consider a bid that is ‘north’ of a £33.5m (€40m) fee for Carnesecchi, which would still be less than the price for Martinez.
