Trade rumors are heating up with the NBA offseason right around the corner and one of the centerpieces of rumors have been Phoenix Suns star forward Kevin Durant.
Phoenix is expected to move on from Durant this offseason as the franchise tries to turn things around after missing the playoffs this season.
With Durant likely on the move, possibly before the 2025 NBA Draft, there have been many teams linked to the future Hall of Famer but four teams have stuck out in particular.
According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Durant’s preferred trade destinations are the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have also been one of the more aggressive teams going after Durant this summer but Charania released a major report on Monday afternoon regarding a potential Durant to Minnesota trade.
“I'm told Kevin Durant has no desire to be in Minnesota with the Timberwolves,” Charania said on Monday.
This is a massive report by Charania as it appears Durant has a clear stance on a trade to Minnesota this offseason, though it is not completely up to him.
Phoenix can trade Durant anywhere they want despite Durant’s list of preferred destinations as the Suns try to land the largest trade package possible to kickstart their rebuild.

Because of this, the Suns could still trade Durant to the Timberwolves, especially with reports coming out that Minnesota has been the most aggressive team in trade talks for Durant thus far as they try to pair him alongside Anthony Edwards.
Despite this, Durant may be unwilling to sign an extension with the Timberwolves, or any other team that he is traded to if it is not one of his preferred destinations.
Because of this, it would be a major risk for Minnesota to make a deal for Durant as he is entering the final year of his contract before hitting free agency next summer.
