The New York Knicks already have two All-Stars on their roster. That was good enough to help them reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since 2000, but still not quite good enough to reach the NBA Finals.
Now the Knicks are headed back to the drawing board, trying to find a new head coach. But the roster could see some significant changes too.
According to [Clutch Points’ Kris Pursiainen](https://clutchpoints.com/nba/new-york-knicks/knicks-unique-jaren-jackson-jr-interest-intensifies-desmond-bane-trade), the Knicks’ new “dream All-Star” pairing is to add Jaren Jackson Jr next to Karl-Anthony Towns this offseason.
> “League sources say that a Jackson Jr. and Karl-Anthony Towns frontcourt would be a ‘dream’ pairing for New York in their starting lineup. Whether or not the Grizzlies would move Jackson Jr. remains to be seen. It presented as unlikely going into the offseason, but the Bane deal with Orlando was ‘a rebuild trade‘ according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst. Would Memphis move the two-time NBA All-Star big to punt on competing in the loaded Western Conference?”

> Clutch Points on New York Knicks’ interest in Jaren Jackson
Now that the Memphis Grizzlies have traded Desmond Bane to the Orlando Magic, some have wondered whether Ja Morant or Jackson could be the next to go. Yet, the Grizzlies haven’t shown any signs that they’re looking to blow up the whole roster, which could mean Jackson and Morant are still off-limits in trade discussions.
Yet, if the Knicks could somehow manage to pair Towns with Jackson, it would give New York its own version of the twin towers that were built in Minnesota when the Timberwolves paired Rudy Gobert with Towns. Only this version in New York would have more positional versatility and the ability to hit outside shots too.
