Liverpool Allegedly One of Three Interested in Rafael Leão

According to Phil Haigh writing on football gossip in the Metro, Liverpool along with Arsenal and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in AC Milan winger Rafael Leão. The 26-year-old Portuguese international won the Nations League earlier this month alongside Liverpool’s Diogo Jota.

The rumor mill suggests that Bayern have the most salient interest, with BILD reporting that meeting have taken place between agents and the club’s hierarchy — though it appears that Neco Williams is the first target for both Bayern and Arsenal. Salary concerns might dictate where Williams plays his football in coming seasons, which will, in turn, seemingly affect Leão’s potential move.

Both Liverpool and Bayern have been mentioned in relation to PSG’s Bradley Barcola, who might wish for more starts than he had with the Champions League winners last season. Barcola would be expensive, and shelling out another large transfer fee following the reported club record for Florian Wirtz would be a major financial statement of intent.

It’s all smoke at the moment, regardless: beyond the loose reports of chats between Leão’s team and Bayern Munich, no concrete links have been made at this stage. Should more concrete discussions emerge in the rumor mill, expect some LFC exits coming soon...
