According to a report from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has not outright rejected Bayern Munich, but he has informed other interested clubs that he is focused on a move to FC Barcelona.
If a transfer to Barca falls through, Williams could end up pursuing other options if he chooses to leave Athletic Club:
All clubs involved in the Nico Williams race are aware of the player’s desire, as reported on Sunday: he’s giving priority to Barça move.
It now depends on financial/technical decision to be made by Barça, but Nico has been clear.
Bayern are still intentioned to wait.
We had previously heard that Williams was leaning in this direction, but now it seems as if the winger has made the step to let other clubs know that he is looking elsewhere — at least for now.
This is not a great sign, but it also does not mean that Bayern Munich should lose total hope. FC Barcelona has some financial issues and does not necessarily mean that Williams is definitely going to land at Camp Nou.
