Trabzonspor are preparing themselves for next season, as they hope to build on a strong showing in the 2024/25 season.
The Turkish side made it to the final of the Turkish Cup, coming runners up as Galatasaray completed the domestic double, winning the Super Lig and the cup.
In the league, Tranzonspor unfortunately didn’t fair quite as well, coming seventh place overall, missing out on European football next season.
Now, Fanatik has reported that to help with next season, the Turkish side are looking to Ipswich Town’s Axel Tuanzebe.
The 27-year-old is a free agent, coming the end of his contract this month as Tranzonspor look to make a cost effective signing to rebuild their defence.
Axel Tuanzebe came through the Manchester United academy, however failed to settle on the senior squad, having three loans to Aston Villa and further loans to Stoke and Napoli.
However, in June 2023 the defender left Old Trafford clubless before joining Ipswich Town in September 2023.
Since then the right-back has been a key part of Kieran McKenna’s squad, however has not intention of staying now Ipswich have been relegated.
Ipswich held the option to extend Tuanzebe’s contract by 12-months however have decided against it.
As such the door has been left open for Tranzonspor to swoop in and hopefully nab the right-back.
