Ter Stegen not interested in Galatasaray & still determined to stay at Barca

Turkish side Galatasaray appear really keen to sign Marc-Andre ter Stegen from Barcelona this summer but still have plenty of work to do to convince the Germany star.

Reports in Turkey have already claimed [Ter Stegen has “reached an agreement” over a transfer](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/6/15/24449570/gossip-barcelona-goalkeeper-marc-andre-ter-stegen-reaches-agreement-with-galatasaray) but all of that seems very premature - and inaccurate - to say the least.

Mundo Deportivo and Cope are both reporting precisely the opposite. Namely, that Ter Stegen isn’t interested in moving and remains determined to fight for his place.

Galatasaray are reportedly hoping that Ter Stegen will agree a contract termination and then join the club on a lucrative salary as a replacement for Fernando Muslera.

Yet it seems that Ter Stegen is only thinking about seeing out his current deal which runs until 2028.

Of course that stance may change as the summer progresses, particularly if - as expected - Joan Garcia arrives from Espanyol this week.

[Wojciech Szczęsny is then expected to sign a contract extension](https://www.barcablaugranes.com/2025/6/15/24449139/barcelona-set-to-finalize-wojciech-szczesny-renewal-after-joan-garcia-signing), leaving Barcelona’s goalkeeping plans for the 2025-26 season pretty clear.

Ter Stegen is expected to discuss his future with club chiefs before the start of pre-season but will enjoy a holiday first after some time away on international duty.
