For most of the 2024 NFL season, fans had been waiting with bated breath in anticipation of a potential engagement between Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift.
That suspense reached its peak on Feb. 9 during Super Bowl LIX when some fans were convinced that the seven-time All-Pro would propose had the Chiefs won the game — of course they didn’t, losing 40-22 to the Philadelphia Eagles.
But in the months since the season ended, those same fans have been anxiously crawling social media to get the latest updates on Kelce and Swift’s relationship, and there were even reports that the two could tie the knot during the offseason with 2025 expected to be Kelce’s final NFL season.
And though it doesn’t seem like the couple are any closer to saying “I do,” fans did get a glimmer of hope about the Kelce and Swift possibly expanding their family on Monday when Kelce made a subtle joke about doing so during a Q&A at the Amazon Port Panel in Cannes, France.

“The ads I love doing the most are the ones I actually use, the stuff that I use every single day,” Kelce said. “It's hard to sell dog food when you don't have a dog.”
A panel member then suggested the Pro Bowl pass-catcher should, in fact, get a dog.
“There you go, yeah, I need to get a dog,” Kelce responded.
Kelce's admission about possibly getting a canine companion comes just days after fans were speculating that Swift was pregnant after a photo emerged on social media from an awkward angle that made it look like she was sporting a baby bump.
This also isn’t the first time the possibility of Kelce and Swift adopting a pet together has been mentioned. Back in late October, it was reported that the two were interested in adopting a cat.
“They love the idea of saving a cat’s life and know there are so many in need,” a source told Life & Style. “They get a lot of pleasure doting on the cats together. They love snuggling up with them and Travis has set up all sorts of scratching posts in the house for them.
“He’s always buying them new toys and is even planning to build them a cat patio so they can have outdoor time without having to risk them getting lost or worse.”
Swift already has three cats of her own — Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson and Benjamin Button. Conversely, Kelce doesn’t have any pets, but he and his brother Jason had a cat growing up named Flash.
