The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers 120-109 to capture Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday to take a 3-2 series lead and move a game away from capturing the championship.
The Thunder led Game 5 by as many as 18 points but the Pacers cut the lead to as little as two in the fourth quarter.
The series will now shift back to Indiana for Game 6 where the Thunder will try to capture their first title since the franchise moved to Oklahoma City in 2008.
NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points with 10 assists.
Jalen Williams scored 40 points for the Thunder to lead all scorers.
Pascal Siakam responded with 28 points for the Pacers.
After failing to score in the first half, Tyrese Haliburton, who suffered through a leg injury during the game, finished with four points.
