Man City kick off their Club World Cup campaign in Philadelphia against Moroccan side Wydad AC.

Manchester City players won’t have had much time for rest after the season finished as Pep Guardiola’s side have travelled to the USA to play in the Club World Cup. They will have games against Wydad AC, Al Ain and Juventus in group G, hoping to get through to the knockout rounds.

However, City’s attention will be on their first game, against Casablanca-based side Wydad AC, which will be their tournament opener at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, the same stadium that the NFL team, the Eagles, call home.

City’s fist game kicks off on Wednesday, 18 June against Wydad at 5pm GMT, and will be available to watch for free. All Club World Cup games will be shown on Channel 5 in the UK, meaning that is is available on terrestrial TV.

Furthermore, DAZN are also showing the Club World Cup games for those wanting to livestream the games on a mobile, computer or smart TV. The streaming service will be showing it for free, without a subscription. Customers simply need to register with DAZN, and they will be able to watch every game without charge.

Coverage will also be available via the Manchester City website and app, which will provide live text and audio coverage. It will be City’s first game since the final day of the Premier League season, when they beat Fulham 2-0 to secure Champions League football for next year.

Guardiola is no stranger to injury problems, as his squad suffered some serious injury issues over the season. None more so than midfielder Rodri, who will finally come back from his ACL injury this week in the Club World Cup.

City could be without two players ahead of the opening game against Wydad AC. Firstly, Matteo Kovacic is dealing with a heel injury. Guadiola said: “Pain and swelling appeared concerning the heel tendon.”

Furthermore, John Stones is also working to make a return. he is dealing with a hamstring injury, but is likely to be available for selection should Guardiola decide to pick him on Wednesday.
