Lithuanian executive to leave Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets are parting ways with Lithuanian executive Tomas Balcetis, leaving the team without a full-time general manager or assistant GM just days before the 2025 NBA Draft.

The Denver Nuggets are not renewing the contract of assistant general manager Tomas Balcetis, according to Bennet Durando of The Denver Post.

Balcetis joined the organization in 2013 under then-GM Tim Connelly, initially leading the team's analytics department before rising to the assistant GM role.

The Lithuanian executive has long been viewed as a promising front office talent.

However, when the Nuggets fired GM Calvin Booth in April, they chose G League affiliate GM Ben Tenzer as interim general manager instead of Balcetis—signaling where team ownership stands on the front office hierarchy.

With Balcetis now out, the Nuggets are left without a full-time general manager or assistant GM just nine days before the first round of the 2025 NBA Draft.

Tenzer remains in the interim role and is still considered a candidate for the permanent position, per the report.
