El Pais have revealed that Alexander-Arnold has been ‘particularly shy’ and has joined the ‘foreigners’ group’ in Xabi Alonso’s side, along with Bellingham.
The report says that Alexander-Arnold ‘hasn’t left his friend Jude Bellingham alone’ – he is ‘either at his side or following him during any exercise’ in training.
Real Madrid are currently in Palm Beach Gardens in Florida ahead of their first game at the Club World Cup against Al Hilal.
Alexander-Arnold is expected to make his Los Blancos debut in that game.
Many Liverpool fans have been convinced that Bellingham is the reason why Alexander-Arnold left Anfield for Real Madrid.
‘Agent Jude’ has been a common phrase on social media, but the former Liverpool star is adamant that his good mate had nothing to do with this move.
Alexander-Arnold has claimed that it was he who felt that it was time to move away from Merseyside and take up a new challenge.
He said, as per Goal: “We spoke, it wasn’t exactly what people think it was. We spoke a lot about Liverpool and Madrid, they’re the conversations you have as players and friends, you want to know what it’s like.
“At the national team, he was the only player who knew what it was like to be at Real Madrid so a lot were asking questions.
“A lot of people think he played a big part in me coming here but it was a big opportunity for me and it felt like the right time.”
