Everton pounce to hijack West Ham’s move for star so quick he’s likened to a natural disaster

Everton are looking to take advantage of West Ham’s financial hesitation by hijacking a deal for a lightning-quick star so explosive he’s been compared to a natural disaster.

With the Hammers unable to get moves over the line until they make sales, the Toffees are sensing an opportunity as they make their move.

Everton are becoming a problem for West Ham with David Moyes at the helm.

Few know the Hammers’ situation better than the Scot, who sparked a remarkable Toffees turnaround as they made up nine points on Graham Potter’s side to finish above them last season having been appointed a day apart in January.

Moyes is also reportedly looking to swoop for Hammers fan favourite Tomas Soucek.

Everton want to add to West Ham’s window pain

This summer transfer window West Ham are getting a taste of where Everton have been financially over the last few years.

The club insist there’s no money for signings until sales are made.

But for the first time in years Everton have cash to spend on signings.

The Toffees are said to be closing in on Kyle Walker while they are in advanced talks to sign exciting young striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal.

The Hammers are desperately trying to offload players like Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd, Emerson Palmieri, Niclas Fullkrug and Konstantinos Mavropanos to name but a few.

But as the wait goes on to make sales, other clubs are looking to take advantage.

Everton are now trying to hijack a West Ham move for an electric star so quick he’s been likened to a natural disaster.

Four top West Ham targets were named in major transfer update as the full summer window reopened for business on Monday.

The Hammers received some good news over a potential deal to offload Aguerd for their £17m asking price.

That may have been the driving force behind Potter and head of recruitment Kyle Macaulay launching a West Ham bid for wonderkid Adama Bojang.

African star Bojang has previously been on the radar of the likes of Manchester City, Man United and Chelsea.

The jet-heeled 22-year-old forward is rapid and stands at a whopping 6ft 3in tall – earning him the nickname ‘The Gambian Hurricane’.

But it is Everton looking to take the wind out of West Ham’s sails by contacting Reims to derail West Ham’s ‘talks’ with the relegated French outfit over a deal for Bojang.

The powerful young forward was loaned to Swiss side Grasshopper where he has scored six goals in 22 matches.

Bojang’s finishing with both feet is deadly and his strength and skill are as breath-taking as his pace.

The bad news for Potter is that Mirror journalist Ryan Taylor has revealed Moyes’ Everton are now on the case despite the Hammers being in active talks to sign Bojang – who is rated at around £10m.

It is claimed Reims know they have ‘no choice’ but to sell Bojang after being demoted to Ligue 2.

However, their desperation for cash after relegation might mean a deal for less than £10m can be struck.

That would be even more galling for West Ham, with Macaulay looking to make an impact by revolutionising the profile of player the east Londoners go after.

At the moment, though, the penniless Hammers are relegated to a watching brief in the transfer market and continue to insist there is no wiggle room over PSR.

As long as that is the case, rivals like Everton will be looking to take full advantage.

And it could become a theme with news emerging elsewhere that one of West Ham’s other prime targets – Raphael Onyedika – is now being looked at by Spurs.
