Giannis subtly responds to Stephen A. Smith and his 'underachiever' claim

After Stephen A. Smith called Giannis Antetokounmpo an "underachiever" if he doesn't win another title, the Bucks superstar subtly responded by reposting a fan's viral defense of his legacy with supportive emojis.

Well-known ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith recently sparked debate on First Take by claiming Giannis Antetokounmpo would be seen as an "underachiever" if he didn't capture another NBA title.

In response, the Milwaukee Bucks superstar didn't speak out directly, but let his social media do the talking.

One social media user defended Giannis, writing:

"Giannis went from selling sunglasses on a beach in Greece to a multi-millionaire who won a championship without having to run off and create a super team. He has overachieved his wildest dreams, and anyone who thinks otherwise is ridiculous."

Antetokounmpo co-signed the message by reposting it with "100" and "fire" emojis.

The Greek Freak won his only NBA title in 2021, earning Finals MVP honors in the process.

But since then, the Bucks have been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs three straight years, prompting Giannis to rethink his future in Milwaukee—the only NBA team he's played for since entering the league in 2013.

For the first time in his career, a two-time NBA MVP is reportedly open to exploring other options. With Damian Lillard sidelined and expected to miss the entire upcoming season, this summer could be pivotal for the Bucks.

If they lose Giannis, their status as a championship contender may disappear with him.
