With just under two months until the Premier League season kicks off, title hopefuls Arsenal and their competitors are gearing up for a hectic summer.

Mikel Arteta's squad have already bid farewell to Jorginho and Kieran Tierney, with more comings and goings anticipated before the first whistle blows. The Gunners' top priority this summer is securing a new striker. With Andrea Berta at the helm as sporting director, supporters will be bracing for another big-spending summer.

Mikel Merino, David Raya and Riccardo Calafiori all signed up last season, but the spotlight this time is likely to shine on the forward line. Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres are high on the wish list, with Sesko appearing to be the front-runner as Arteta seeks to sidestep the attacking woes that plagued the latter half of the 2024-25 season.

Here are the latest transfer updates from the Emirates.

Juventus are poised to take the lead in the chase for Viktor Gyokeres. The Sporting CP forward has been strongly linked with both Arsenal and Manchester United, but the Old Lady aren't backing down easily, reports the Mirror.

Italian reports suggest that Juve are prepared to meet Gyokeres' £11m-per-year salary demands. They're also reportedly willing to shell out £60m for the Swedish player, although Sporting may hold out for a higher fee.

The Italian club's pursuit of the striker could depend on the future of Dusan Vlahovic. Juventus are keen to offload the Serbian forward's hefty wages, potentially paving the way for Gyokeres to step in.

Xhaka faces decision

Ex-Arsenal skipper Granit Xhaka must make a choice amidst interest from AC Milan.

The Swiss international is contracted with Bayer Leverkusen until 2028, but Gazzetta dello Sport suggests Milan are ready to offer him a shot at Serie A.

The Rossoneri are seeking midfield reinforcements following the departure of Tijjani Reijnders in early June. The Dutch midfielder, one of Milan's standout players last season, transferred to Manchester City for an initial £46.6m.

Xhaka, now 32, played just under 300 matches during his seven-year stint at Arsenal, but has enjoyed greater success since his departure.

He clinched the Bundesliga title in his debut season with Leverkusen and secured a second-place finish last term, but has seen manager Xabi Alonso leave for Real Madrid.

Nico Williams could pocket around £7.7million per season if he makes a switch to Arsenal, as reported by Sport.

The Gunners are currently in a tug-of-war with Barcelona for the Spanish international, who remains at his childhood club Athletic Bilbao for now.

The same source suggests that Williams would favour a move to Barca if the club shows commitment towards him. However, the Catalan giants have also been eyeing Liverpool's Luis Diaz as they seek options for their left wing.

Neither Barca nor Athletic are anticipated to match Arsenal's lucrative offer, but Williams might settle for a lesser wage if it means joining the current La Liga champions.

Bayern Munich could also swoop in for Williams before the transfer window closes, as they look to replenish their squad following Leroy Sane's departure to Galatasaray.
