Jarrad Branthwaite has been a key figure in Everton’s backline for the past two campaigns.
The England international shone in the 2024/25 season as he helped to guide the Toffees to Premier League safety with ease.
Branthwaite was highly praised for his performances for Everton, with the defender being seen as one of the best in the country already.
As a result, Tottenham want to sign Branthwaite this summer, and the 22-year-old’s exit from Merseyside may be closer than ever after new developments

Kyle Walker can ease Branthwaite exit blow
Reports emerged out of nowhere on Monday that Everton are looking to sign Kyle Walker.
MORE TOFFEES STORIES
The defender is no longer in Manchester City’s plans after he spent the latter half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at AC Milan.
As a result, David Moyes is keen to acquire the ageing defender to add more experience to his backline, and is said to have approved a move.
However, this could spell out the end of Branthwaite’s Everton career if the transfer goes through, with Jake O’Brien raring to get a shot in his preferred position.

Walker has had a fantastic career at Man City
The England international has also played centrally multiple times in his career for England, which could make any transition a smooth one if needed.
With O’Brien finally being given a consistent shot in the starting XI under Moyes, the Irishman had to adapt to play at right-back, scoring several goals.
But, if Walker was to come, it could open the door for Everton to cash in on Branthwaite and strengthen other areas ahead of the Hill Dickinson Stadium move.

Walker is a risky signing for Moyes
One of the biggest concerns surrounding Walker is his age. The defender is now 35 years old and will not have long left at the top of English football.
Therefore, if Moyes chooses to bring in the Man City star, he will have to ensure that he is only on a short-term deal in case his ability declines quickly.
However, the experience Walker would bring to Everton’s squad would be excellent, and the England international could inspire many of the younger players.
With Ashley Young moving on, Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson have been hit by too many injuries to be trusted consistently, opening the door.
Hopefully, Moyes does not give in to heavy demands from Walker if he is to pursue the defender, who would likely welcome this move with open arms.
For Branthwaite, his exit could be closer than ever.
