Jack Grealish's potential move to Napoli is already on shaky ground, with the Italian club reportedly struggling to meet his hefty wage demands.
The Manchester City player seems to have a limited future under Pep Guardiola after being dropped by the Spanish manager.
Serie A champions Napoli had appeared as the most probable destination for the England international, with rumours suggesting that the Italian team were prepared to fork out around £45m for his services. A transfer to Naples would have reunited Grealish with ex-City star Kevin De Bruyne, who signed a two-year contract with the club earlier this month.
However, it seems the deal is already in jeopardy. According to the Independent, Napoli are unwilling to match Grealish's current salary, which is believed to be around £300,000 per week.
It's suggested that City might have to cover half of the costs to make the move happen. As it stands, Napoli already have other options in mind, having added Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho to their shortlist - the Argentine is seen as a potentially better long-term investment due to his youth.

Grealish still has time to sort out his future, with the transfer window set to stay open until September. But currently, City have yet to receive any bids for him, with a loan move appearing to be the most likely exit strategy from the Etihad, reports the Mirror.
Grealish still has two years remaining on his lucrative contract in Manchester, with Pep Guardiola having suggested it might be best for him to seek out a new club to guarantee more playing time. At the close of the last season, the City boss stated: "Of course, Jack has to play.
"That's the truth. Jack is an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days. And it didn't happen this season, and last season neither. And he needs to do it with us, or another place.

"But that is a question for Jack, his agent, and the club. If he stays, we'll be fine, and he'll fight like he fought since day one to make a contribution."
